1.  Shower, shave and exfoliate BEFORE the spray tan.

2.  One key step prior to the tan is to not use any oil based products as they are known for leaving a film on the skin's surface.  Do not have any lotions/oils/makeup/deodorant on prior to the tan.

3.  Make sure to schedule any nail (mani/pedi), waxing, facial or massage services BEFORE  the tan!  Doing any of these things after the tan could remove the tan off in the areas they are working on you.  

 

4.  Check the weather conditions at the time of your tan.  If you could possibly get caught in any rain or snow and are not covered properly, being exposed to water on your skin right after the tan can cause disruptions or smearing of the tan and ultimately its development. Be prepared to keep yourself covered, as this cannot be fixed easily if you get wet unexpectedly.

1.  Wear loose fitting clothing until you shower the tan off to prevent discoloration and rubbing.  No tight pants, compression clothing, jeans or tight socks at this time.

2.  Wait at least 8 hours to shower (you can wait as long as you want but a minimum of 8 hours is required UNLESS you are receiving a rapid tan solution).

3.  Do not partake in any activities where you will be getting wet or perspiring heavily (i.e. exercising) prior to that 1st shower.

1.  Anytime after 8 hours, you can take a light, warm shower and rinse.   ***If you received a rapid tan solution and not an 8-hour formula, it is very important to "rinse only" at the time discussed with me.  You DO NOT want to use soaps on the body with this first shower when receiving the rapid tan, as it is still developing on the skin after you rinse.

 

2.  Do not scrub your body.

 

3.  Make sure all of the excess bronzer is washed away.  You will know this when your shower water begins to run clear.

 

4.  Pat dry with your towel.  (DO NOT RUB!)

 

5.  Apply lots of moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated. Be sure it is an oil-free moisturizer/lotion.  I recommend getting a moisturizer we carry specifically for the tan .      

 

**The tan should last anywhere from 7-10 days depending on how often the client's skin sheds (i.e. shaving, exfoliating, swimming etc.) To maintain your tan on a daily basis, use our recommended products which will avoid stripping away any color from your beautiful new tan!
